Hiring - Front of House

TangleWood Nature Estate, located 14 km's outside Potchefstroom, North West, focuses on camping, self-catering accommodation, day visitors, and boat launching onto Boskop Dam.  We also host informal functions and events with catering. 

 

We are looking for a single person who is passionate about the hospitality industry to join our small team

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS​

  • Driving License and own transport essential.

  • Matric, preferably with a Degree or Diploma in Hospitality

  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans), and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Professional and well groomed.

  • Must be able to work independently, sometimes under pressure, as part of small multicultural team.

  • Attention to detail

  • Stable work history and contactable references. 

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS: FRONT OF HOUSE & ADMIN

  • Minimum 2 years working experience, preferably in a Guest House or Lodge or Camp Site in a Front of House or Reservations role. 

  • Role requires strong administrative skills and experience managing accommodation reservations.

  • Experience using Nightsbridge an advantage. 

  • Must have excellent client communication, and interpersonal skills, and is able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

  • Can manage guest feedback and complaints effectively.

  • Experience managing inventory, stock control, and bank recons an advantage. 

  • Computer literate (essential)

  • No dependents and non-smoker. Must have sober habits.​​

  • 45 hour working week: 5 days on and 2 off. Regular shifts over weekends and public holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reservations/Bookings: Manage all aspects of Front of House, including client enquiries, reservations/bookings, answering calls and emails with professionalism and courtesy, assist with various administrative tasks.

  • Guest Relations: Ensure smooth client check-ins/outs, provide excellent service, resolve guest issues in coordination with Owners and or HOD’s

  • Stock Control: Manage inventory and stock orders for assigned area of responsibility.

  • Financial Recons: Reconcile bank receipts and site purchases. Experience using SAGE Accounting an advantage. 

  • Staff Leadership: Maintain effective team relationships, promote teamwork and ongoing staff development.

  • Social Media: Manage social media pages, schedule regular SM posts, respond to client enquiries, and feedback/reviews.

  • Stand in for Housekeeping HOD if required from time to time.​ 

PACKAGE & WORKING HOURS​

  • Salary: Market related and depending on experience. Will be discussed during the interview. 

  • Accommodation: Can either be Live In or Live Out.

    • If Living In: Staff have the option of either moving into a shared 3 bedroomed unfurnished staff house, or a small single room flat (flat has an open plan bedroom with kitchenette and private bathroom) 

  • Transport: Staff are responsible for own transport to / from work.  

  • Staff Uniform: Provided

  • Meals: 1 staff meal per day when on duty

  • Starting Date: ASAP
