Couple or 2 Singles

We are located 14 km's outside Potchefstroom, North West and focus on camping, self-catering accommodation, day visitors, and boat launching onto Boskop Dam. We also have an informal venue and host informal functions and events. 

 

We are looking to fill two positions, preferably with a young couple due to the available staff accommodation (shared house), but two single candidates will also be considered.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver’s License essential, with own reliable transport. 

  • Fluent english (main working language) plus good Afrikaans 

  • Stable work history with contactable references. 

  • No dependents/pets/smoking

  • Sober habits. 

  • These are not management roles, and will require both candidates to do the tasks.

HER: FOH & ADMIN

Responsible for bookings, check ins /outs, unit and facility checks, stock take, supplier orders, purchases, quotes, recons, admin etc.​

  • Grade 12 essential, with a hospitality degree/diploma (preferred)

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years working experience in a similar role (guest house or lodge etc) .

  • Strong admin skills, must be organised and have attention to detail.

  • Requires excellent client relationship skills and ability to deal with difficult situations.

  • Computer literate, can use Excel (essential), knowledge of Nightsbridge and SAGE (beneficial)

  • Professional and well groomed.

  • Can work independently and as part of small multicultural team.

HIM: MAINTENANCE + GROUNDS MANAGEMENT

Responsible for all grounds and maintenance, and managing a small team of grounds staff. 

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years hands on experience, ideally working on a remote lodge or farm. ​

  • Requires strong technical skills: Must be able to do general repairs and maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, sewerage, borehole pumps, pressure pumps, gas geysers, solar power, building maintenance, pools, fencing, fireguards, grounds and road maintenance. (This is not a Maintenance Manager role)  

  • Able to plan and prioritise work. 

  • Basic knowledge of first aid and safety regulations/procedures.

PACKAGE & WORKING HOURS

  • Salary: DOE; between R16k-24k combined.  

  • 45 hours per week, off days during the week

  • 21 days annual leave 

  • Staff uniform

  • Meal X 1 per day when on duty

  • Accommodation: Live In, 3 bedroom unfurnished house (excludes electricity)​
